ImageTools Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

The public ImageTools tools — resize, crop, compress, convert, the social media resizer, and image-to-PDF — do not use cookies.

What we use instead of cookies (public tools)

To measure anonymous usage (see our Privacy Policy), the public tools store a small amount of data directly in your browser using two standard browser storage mechanisms — not cookies:

• Local storage: a randomly generated identifier (not linked to your name or any personal information) so repeat visits from the same browser can be recognized as "returning" rather than "new" in our aggregate counts, plus a small flag used for the same purpose.
• Session storage: a short-lived marker that clears when you close your browser tab, used only to avoid counting one visit twice.

None of this is a cookie, none of it is sent to any third party, and none of it is used to track you across other websites.

Cookies used by the admin panel

The separate administrator login area of this site (not part of the public tools) uses a single authentication cookie to keep an administrator signed in after entering their password. This cookie is strictly necessary for that login to function, is not set for ordinary visitors using the public tools, and is not used for advertising or tracking.

Your Choices

You can clear your browser's local storage and session storage at any time from your browser's settings, which resets the anonymous identifier described above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if our use of cookies or browser storage changes.
