How it works
Type or paste a title and the slug appears instantly. To convert many titles at once, put one per line and you get one slug per line. Choose hyphens or underscores, optionally remove common stop words, set a maximum length (slugs are cut at a word boundary), and choose whether to keep only Latin letters. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Is my text sent to any server?
No. The slug generator runs entirely in your browser. The text you type or paste is never uploaded, stored, or included in analytics. We do not require sign-up or login.
What is a URL slug?
A slug is the readable part of a web address that identifies a page, such as best-sip-plans-2026 in example.com/blog/best-sip-plans-2026. Good slugs are short, lowercase and use hyphens between words.
What does the generator change?
It lowercases the text, turns spaces and punctuation into single hyphens, removes repeated and trailing hyphens, converts accented letters to plain ones (é becomes e, ß becomes ss), turns & into “and” and symbols like ₹ and % into words, and drops apostrophes so “don't” becomes dont.
Can I keep Hindi or other non-Latin text?
Yes. Untick “Latin letters only” to keep letters from any script, such as Hindi or Russian. Such URLs work in modern browsers but are often shown encoded when shared, so Latin-only slugs are usually the safer choice.
Should I remove stop words?
Removing short words like a, the, of and and makes slugs shorter, which many people prefer for SEO. The generator never removes every word -- if a title is only stop words, it keeps them.
