How this calculator works
Enter your starting monthly SIP, expected annual return, investment period and how much you plan to increase the SIP each year -- as a percentage, a fixed rupee amount, or both. The calculator simulates every month: each installment is invested at the start of the month and grows at your expected return (annual rate ÷ 12, compounded monthly), and the monthly amount steps up at the start of every new year. It shows your total investment, estimated returns and final corpus, compares it with a flat SIP of the same starting amount, and breaks everything down year by year. Everything runs in your browser.
What is a step-up SIP?
A step-up (or top-up) SIP increases your monthly investment once a year -- for example by 10% or by a fixed ₹1,000 -- usually in line with salary increases. Because more money is invested each year and compounds for longer, the final corpus can be much larger than with a flat SIP.
Is my data sent to any server?
No. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter -- SIP amount, return, period or step-up -- is ever sent to our servers or stored anywhere.
How is the step-up applied?
Your starting SIP is invested every month in year 1. At the start of each following year the monthly amount becomes last year's amount × (1 + step-up %) plus the fixed step-up amount, if you entered one. You can use a percentage, a fixed amount, or both.
How are returns calculated?
Each monthly installment is assumed to be invested at the start of the month and to grow at the expected annual return divided by 12, compounded monthly -- the same convention used by most Indian SIP calculators and by our SIP Calculator. Actual mutual fund returns vary and are not guaranteed.
