How it works
Paste your text and choose which clean-up steps to apply -- all are on by default. The cleaned result updates instantly and shows how many characters were removed. Typical uses include fixing text copied from PDFs (which often has broken spacing), cleaning lists before importing them into a spreadsheet, and tidying email or chat exports. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Is my text sent to any server?
No. The text cleaner runs entirely in your browser. The text you type or paste is never uploaded, stored, or included in analytics. We do not require sign-up or login.
What does each option do?
Remove extra spaces collapses runs of spaces, tabs and non-breaking spaces into a single space. Remove blank lines deletes empty lines. Trim each line removes spaces at the start and end of every line. Normalize line breaks converts Windows (CRLF) and old Mac (CR) line endings to standard line breaks. The last option trims whitespace from the very start and end of the whole text.
Will it change my words or punctuation?
No. The cleaner only removes or standardizes whitespace and line breaks. Letters, numbers and punctuation are left untouched.
