YouTube Money Calculator

A simple planner for creators: estimate monthly views from your daily views or upload schedule, then estimated revenue with a separate RPM for long-form or Shorts. Estimates only.

RPM Assumptions

Long-form RPM

Long-form and Shorts keep separate RPM values -- only the one for the selected content type is used. Leave Low / High blank to use 50% / 150% of Mid.

Estimate note: Revenue figures are estimates from your own assumptions, not a creator's actual income. YouTube earnings are private and RPM varies widely. This is not financial or tax advice.

How this calculator works

First the calculator estimates monthly views: either daily views × 30.42 (365 ÷ 12), or uploads per week × 4.35 weeks per month × average views per video (assuming each new video reaches its average views within the month). Then estimated revenue = monthly views × RPM ÷ 1,000 for the low, mid and high RPMs, with yearly = monthly × 12. Long-form videos and Shorts are monetized differently -- long-form creators receive 55% of net watch-page ad revenue, while Shorts revenue is pooled and shared at 45% -- and their RPMs usually differ a lot, so each content type has its own RPM fields and they are never mixed. To look up a specific channel's public statistics, use the YouTube Channel Analyzer; see all YouTube Tools.

How do I use this for a channel with both Shorts and long-form?

Run the calculator once for long-form views with your long-form RPM and once for Shorts views with your Shorts RPM, then add the two. For a combined view in one place, use the YouTube Revenue Estimator, which keeps both RPMs separate.

What is RPM on YouTube?

RPM (revenue per mille) is YouTube's measure of how much a creator earned per 1,000 views, after YouTube's revenue share, across all views -- including views that showed no ads. It includes several revenue sources such as ads, channel memberships, YouTube Premium, Super Chat and Super Stickers. It is different from CPM, which is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions before YouTube's share. Creators can see their own RPM in YouTube Studio analytics.

Can this show how much a YouTuber actually earns?

No. YouTube earnings are private and only the channel owner can see them in YouTube Studio. This tool only multiplies the views you enter by an RPM you choose, so the result is an estimate of what those assumptions would produce -- never a channel's real income.

Why might real earnings be different?

Views and RPM change from month to month with seasonality (ad demand is often higher before major holidays), audience mix, video topics and monetization status. Some views show no ads at all. The calculator assumes everything stays constant, which real channels rarely do.

Where does the USD / INR rate come from?

It is pre-filled with the latest European Central Bank reference rate (via the free Frankfurter service, through our own server). It is a daily reference rate, not a live market rate, and you can edit it or leave it blank.

Is anything I enter saved or shared?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser. Your views, RPM, revenue estimates and channel numbers are not sent to our servers, stored, or included in analytics -- analytics only count that the tool was used.
